According to Globe News Wire, Athabasca Minerals has announced a joint venture with AMI Silica to pursue the Duvernay Silica Sand Project. The joint venture aims to co-develop and operate one of the greenest silica sand facilities in North America.

Located in Northeastern Alberta, the facility includes access to industrial utilities and transportation infrastructure, as well as additional premium domestic sand deposits in close proximity. In addition, the facility will offer long-term employment and it will support local businesses.

The green silica sand facility has an estimated capacity of 800 thousand tons per year and it will provide products for the energy, construction and environmental sectors.
