Upgrade allows fly ash recycling plant to process all ash types from coal fired thermal power stations.

{reg} DIRK India's Nashik Pozzocrete plant is set to be upgraded to expand its capabilities. The Nashik facility with a 3000 ton per day capacity was established in 2000 to recycle the fly ash coming from the Nashik Thermal power station into a cement substitute called Pozzocrete. It has been fitted with upgrades to enable it to recycle all ash types from coal fired thermal power stations.

An article by PR log reports that currently the plant uses mechanical air separation of the pulverized fly ash using classifiers. This allows it to produce various grades of products which can either completely replace silica fumes or partly replace Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC) in structural concrete, or partial sand replacement, fillers and products to be used for stabilization of toxic sludges from waste water treatment.

The article reports that the company recently installed a grinding plant to its process to convert the by-products of Pozzocrete production into usable products. The new grinding facility raises the plant output by 40 percent by is grinding cement clinker together with fly ash to produce a Pozzolan Portland Cement (PPC). After drying of pond ash even such material could be used to manufacture PPC. {/reg]
