Eurostat report shows lower figures in March 2016, both YoY and MoM

Production in the construction sector fell by 0.9% in the euro area (EA19) and by 1.4% in the EU28 in March 2016, when compared to February 2016, according to estimates from Eurostat, reports The Financial. The largest decreases in production in construction were recorded in Slovenia (-8.5 percent), Hungary (-6.3 percent) and the Czech Republic (-5.1 percent), while increases were observed in Sweden (+3.5 percent), France (+1.2 percent) and the Netherlands (+0.9 percent).

When compared to the same period of last year, production fell by 0.5% in the euro area and by 1.4% in the EU28, in March 2016.  The largest decreases in production in construction were recorded in Slovenia (-36.7 percent), Hungary (-33.9 percent), Poland (-14.9 percent) and the Czech Republic (-11.5 percent), while increases were observed in Sweden (+16.4 percent), the Netherlands (+6.3 percent), Germany (+1.0 percent) and Spain (+0.4 percent).
