The recycling facility, located in the industrial zone of Can Prunera is set to treat the waste product of Celsa steelworks in Castellbisbal.

According to a report by Expansion, the new facility in Vallirana may treat 520,000 tons of waste annually, primarily resulting from the process of scrap steel making electric furnaces. This waste will be converted into artificial aggregate suitable for use as feedstock in the production of asphalt, concrete and other civil engineering applications.

According to the report, Celsas contract with Global Adec is an exclusive five-year-deal that will allow the latter to treat about 360,000 tons of slag produced in the formers factory in Castellbisbal.{reg/}
