The majority of goods shipped to or from Coulee Region are transported by trucks

{reg}Several studies have shown interest in a truck-to-train container facility in La Crosse, reports Winona Daily News.

These studies have shown that this new facility needs to generate 20,000 to 40,000 annual lifts in order to gain profit. ÔÇ£There is a significant demand. Just not enough to justify the costÔÇØ, said La Crosse Country planner Charlie Handy.

ÔÇ£We had enough business lined up to support it. You canÔÇÖt really do it without railÔÇØ, said the president and co-worker of Supply Chain Solutions, a La Crosse- based logistics company.{/reg}
