Protecting domestic agriculture amid EU decision

Hungary is extending its ban on Ukrainian grain imports to 24 products from September 16, informs Intercfax. This move aims to safeguard its domestic market after the EU declined to prolong restrictions.

Minister of Agriculture István Nagy revealed this decision, citing the challenges faced by Hungary's agriculture sector, including the influx of low-cost Ukrainian agricultural goods, despite a projected record corn harvest this year.

The ban is a protective measure for Hungarian farmers against stiff competition from cheap imports.
