The government will come with a regulation to help companies and workers in the mining sectors reg}ÔÇ£I am optimistic that we will be able to deliver. We are now still mulling the right formula to minimize the damage this policy could create in the futureÔÇØ, said the Trade Minister Gita Wirjawan.

 

The Mining Law will implement regulations which will only export the ore that has been locally processed to help develop the downstream industry and create added value. Giant miners said that they will have to halt mining operations if the ban is imposed.

According to Economic Minister Hatta Rajasa, the government is seeking ways in order to allow moning companies which has concrete plans to build smelters to be able to export ore. The President will have the final word.{/reg}
