The dredging operation, which lasted 45 days, involved the dredge vessel TSHD Brisbane along with supporting equipment. During the 2024 season, approximately 700,000 cubic meters of sediment were removed from the port and deposited at the designated Dredge Material Placement Area (DMPA) in Albatross Bay. Additional dredging was conducted at Amrun on behalf of Rio Tinto. Environmental monitoring and management practices were rigorously applied throughout the dredging campaign to mitigate potential impacts on the marine ecosystem.
