India is set to host the first maritime summit to empower global partnerships and unveil investment opportunities with Korea as the first single-partner country, reports The Statesman.

The report notes that India has concentrated efforts to industrialize its mammoth capacities, choosing the marine sector as ÔÇ£a means of driving the country's economic transformation and enhancing connections with the world,ÔÇØ according to Indian Ambassador Vikram Doraiswami.

According to the report, the maiden undertaking, the Maritime India Summit 2016 will take place at the Bombay Convention and Exhibition Center in Mumbai from Thursday to Saturday.
