In December 2007 Ceprocim Engineering S.R.L. (CEL) was established to incorporate the Engineering Division of Ceprocim S.A., the former National Institute for Cement in Romania. CEL is today part of the Holcim Group. Ceprocim was an integral part in designing all of Romania's cement plants, including the plants at Alesd, Campulung, Medgidia and Fieni, as well as several other plants around the world.

Over last few years, CEL has focused on designing and executing cost effective solutions for plant upgrading and modernizations. In this issue of the CemWeek Feature series, CEL discusses how the company helped upgrade the preheater design at the Holcim Alesd plant in Romania. [$]
