Thanks to a recovering economy that felt only minimal effects of the Arab Spring, coupled with strong infrastructure spending, the Moroccan cement market anticipates growth. Privatization had been a cornerstone of the Moroccan economy since 1993. However, the global economic crisis and ongoing political unrest has forced the government to invest heavily in social programs and subsidies.
