Efforts to arrest climate change have centered on the reduction of carbon emissions, and the cement manufacturing industry is doing its part primarily through the use of alternative fuels in the clinker production process. The construction industry is a major contributor of carbon emissions in the world, following the automotive and energy generation industries. As cement has long been (and will continue to be) one of the most popular, inexpensive, and versatile building materials today, demand will undoubtedly continue to rise, and so will production.
