CNBM, Conch and Dalmia Chairmen will address industry challenges

According to WCA forecasts, the developed economies of Europe and North America will account for under 8% of global cement output by 2030. The two giants of the industry will be China and India who will continue to occupy over half the world market. These two countries will be well represented at the WCA conference this year by some of their foremost and visionary executives.

Song Zhiping, Chairman of CNBM - the world's largest cement producer and Gao Dengbang, Chairman of Anhui Conch - the world's most profitable cement producer, will both be keynote speakers. They will lay out their assessment of the state of the industry and their ambitions for the future and talk about the BRI and China's increasing role in other emerging economies.

Mahendra Singhi, Chairman of India's Dalmia Cement, the cement company with the lowest per ton CO2 emissions worldwide, will speak about the world cement industry's response to global warming. Mr Singhi has said that the major challenge is to convert the climate risks into business opportunities while sustaining business growth for the benefit of present as well as future stakeholders.

According to WCA CEO designate, Ian Riley, ÔÇ£China and India can now claim leadership of the world cement industry in terms of technology, energy efficiency and sustainability. I am delighted to have the leaders from three of the world's most important cement companies speaking at the conferenceÔÇØ

Delegates to the WCA World Cement Conference, to be held in Shanghai from September 9 to 11, will have the chance to meet these and other industry leaders in a setting that epitomizes the transformation of China over the last 30 years. The construction boom that came first to Shanghai has driven the Chinese cement industry to today's massive scale and has also resulted in a modern, highly efficient and competitive industry.
