The measure aims to be a step towards the launch of a national carbon market scheduled for the middle of next year. China seeks to bring its CO2 emissions to a peak by around 2030. The National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) released this week new technical guidelines detailing how oil and coal producers should measure and report their emissions. Instructions have now been published for 14 industrial sectors, including cement. Companies that emitted more than 13,000 tons of CO2 equivalent or consumed energy amounting to more than 5,000 tons of standard coal in 2010 are obligated to report their emission data.{/reg} Sign in Don't have any account?
