Turkey's Polimeks Insaat Taahh├╝t asks Siemens to provide the electrical equipment and automation system for a new cement line at Jebel, Turkmenistan.

The order is worth around twelve million euros and is scheduled for completion in May 2011, Siemens said. The new production line will be the second clinker production line of Turkmenistan. Siemens also equipped the first cement plant in Kelete in 2005.

Polimeks is building a new cement factory on a 500.000 m┬▓ area near the town of Jebel, Balkanabat Nebitdag in Turkmenistan. The clinker production line will have a capacity of 3.000 metric tons daily and one million tons annually. It is aimed to meet the growing demand of cement in Turkmenistan created by the construction boom.

Siemens Industry Solutions is supplying the complete range of the Sicement product portfolio for equipping cement works including electrical equipment and automation systems for the new line. At the heart of the automation solution is a process control system based on Simatic PCS7. The electrical equipment comprises control cables, the 110kV switchgear units, the power factor compensation system, the power SCADA (supervisory control and data acquisition) system, transformers and the low-voltage distribution panels with MCCs (motor control centers), MV motors and starters, 690V motors and variable speed drives. Siemens is also responsible for the design and engineering of the electrical equipment, including erection, installation and commissioning.
