Cemex: Net sales decline in the LatAm

Operations in South, Central America and the Caribbean reported net sales of USD 479 million during the second quarter of 2017, representing a decrease of 9 percent on a like-to-like basis over the same period of 2016. Operating EBITDA decreased 33 perent on a like-to-like basis to USD 120 million in the second quarter of 2017, from USD 153 million in the second quarter of 2016.

Globally, net sales reached USD 3.6 billion during the second quarter of 2017, an increase of 2 percent on a like-to-like basis for the ongoing operations and adjusting for currency fluctuations, versus the comparable period in 2016. Operating EBITDA decreased by 8 percent during the quarter to USD 696 million versus the same period in 2016. Operating EBITDA adjusted for working days, reflecting the effect of Holy Week and Ramadan, declined 5 percent during the quarter on a year-over-year basis.
