India-based Malabar Cement recorded a loss of INR 6 billion in the first seven months of FY2016, as compared to the same period a year earlier, reports Manorama Online.

The cement production increased from 50,000 tons to around 55,000 tons over the last seven months of FY2016.

The company recorded losses due to unfavorable coal and flyash prices in the reported period. Malabar Cement is a public service undertaking in Kerala, India.

The company sells high quality cement and is well known for quality of cement. The company has a production capacity of 4.2 lakh tons of cement.
