Italcementi said on Wednesday that its full year 2008 revenues rose slightly, but fell in the last quarter of the year on slower construction activity. Virtually all business segments and lines recorded decreases.

Cemex said on Wednesday at its Investor and Analyst Conference - Cemex Day - that it sees 2009 EBITDA in the range of $3,5 billion to $3,7 billion. Free cash flow is expected to be between $1,9 billion and $2,1 billion, but debt burden remains a concern. Egypt is the only major market for Cemex not expected to fall in 2009.

India's top cement maker ACC on announced a 23% drop in net profit in 2008 on Thursday. The company said a weaker economy is lowering demand and high energy prices hurt demand. ACC also expects demand to slow during 2009.

Carpatcement, HeidelbergCement's Romanian operations, saw sales rise by about 10% in 2008 to RON1,08 billion (Ôé¼294 million). In contrast, the Romanian cement market rose 25%. [$]
