Lucky Cement has announced that it generated a profit of Rs 1,938 billion for the June - December 2008.

Turkey's Akcansa Cimento told the Istanbul exchange that it posted 2008 net earnings of 96,4 million Turkish liras, down 22% from 123,5 million liras in the year before.

Holcim Srbija said it produced 920.000 tons of cement at its Novi Popovac plant in Serbia during 2008. The company said that it will keep production at the same rate this year, despite softening demand. [$]

A rise in cement sales for Australia's Adelaide Brighton helped the company counter softening demand for lime and deliver a 6,1% increase in full-year net profits. The company declines to provide earnings guidance for the remainder of 2009.
