Cement sector could need a decade to recover

{reg}Cement demand in Spain rose by 8.3 percent in February compared to the similar period in 2014, reports Yahoo. The increase marks the sixth consecutive month of gains in demand for the building material.

Furthermore, this is the first year since 2011 when Spanish cement demand is on the rise in February.

During the first two months of the current year, cement consumption totaled 1.6 million tons, representing a 6.6 percent increase over the same period in 2014.

However, the cement sector could take as long as a decade to recover, despite the positive trend registered.

Oficemen insisted on its demand that the Government structures specific impact measures to consolidate and stabilize the situation of the internal market in the medium and long term.{/reg}
