The pulp mill in Chetwynd, Canada of Chetwynd Mechanical Pulp will be closed until December 2015 in order to complete routine maintenance works, reports Alaska Highway News. The company began the maintenance work at the pulp mill in September 2015.

The scheduled time for maintenance work has been extended due to weak market conditions for the bleached chemi-thermomechanical pulp. The owner of the mill, Pulp Excellence, estimates that the upgrade will improve market positioning of the mill in the long run. The mill is likely to restart production in January 2016.
