{reg}The Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec has awarded CAD$400,000 in funding to the renewable energy producer Innovent├® Inc., reports Pulp & Paper Canada. The company has developed a ÔÇ£bio-drying technologyÔÇØ.

 

Innovent├® has created renewable fuel sources for the production of electricity and heating energy from converting various types of organic waste, including pulp and paper sludge, municipal sewage and manure.

The firm has signed a 25-year power supply contract with Hydro-Qu├®bec Distribution.

Innovent├® will purchase and install, with the financial support received, three bio-dryers and ramp-up to industrial-scale production at the Saint-Patrice-de-Beaurivage cogeneration plant.{/reg}
