CFR prices for high sulfur petcoke in India's West Coast continued to increase in December 2016, with mid-sulfur petcoke prices increasing as well at a similar pace, according to CW Research's India Petcoke CFR Price Assessment update for mid-month December.

The average cost of burning high sulfur petcoke is at a discount of 27+ percent in mid-December 2016, on a mmBTU basis, when compared to Richard Bays coal for West Coast. During the previous month, the discount rate was 36+ percent.

Over 60 percent of the total petcoke volume imported by Indian firms at the end of November 2016 came from the United States.

The mid-December update of the India Petcoke CFR Price Assessment also includes refinery news and shipping updates.

The monthly update is available as an annual subscription in individual or corporate license forms.
