Segment led by synthetic graphite, taking up almost 90% of the market value

Battery demand for electric vehicles has skyrocketed in the past years and will continue to increase due to more and more car manufacturers releasing full-electric models. The most important raw material used for batteries, graphite, is in high demand and is turning out to be the indispensable resource of the new millennium.

While coal faces a series of bans in different countries around the world, more and more anode grade petcoke manufacturers turn to the synthetic graphite industry for raw materials supply.

The global graphite market size is expected to reach 6.3 million tons by 2023, growing at a CAGR of 11.0 percent, according to CW Research's World Natural and Synthetic Graphite Market Demand Forecast Report. Value-wise, the global synthetic graphite market is expected to reach 90% of the USD 22.1 billion market by 2023.

CW Research will explain how EV manufacturers and other end-user segments will shape the future of the global graphite market during our graphite-based webinar.
