If you do not already have a CW Group account, please register.   The Council of Ministers of the Syrian Economic Commission imposed a ban on import of cement, as it plans to fulfil market demand through local production of cement, reports DP News. The government aims to protect three local producers of cement as they work round the clock to fulfil market demand for cement. The government announced completion of rehabilitation of Tartous cement plant and Adra Cement company. Hama Cement recorded sales of cement reached 8.5 billion pounds in first nine months of 2015. The production of clinker reached 469,668 tons in first nine months of 2015. The cement company was able to mobilize and deliver 497,570 tonnes of cement.
