Anthracite coal prices rose week-on-week to USD 80.2 per ton, reports Market Realist.

In the mean time, prime coking coal at the Pingdingshan benchmark remained at USD 117 per ton, unchanged compared to the previous week.

Coking coal prices have come a long way down since 2011, when it was above the USD 250 per ton mark, but have already recovered from an earlier low when prices bordered USD 100 per ton.

Anthracite prices have steadily come down from around USD 175 per ton in 2011, to stabilize in the USD 80 per ton region.
