Marathon refinery is in overhaul

The Galveston Bay refinery in Texas, owned by Marathon Petroleum, shut its coking complex temporarily down in July due to an overhaul, which will progress until mid-August, reports Hydrocarbon Processing.

The overhaul shut down both the coking complex and the two hydrotreating units at the 459,000 barrels per day Galveston Bay refinery. Overhaul works will continue until mid-August, as scheduled.

Galveston Bay is one of the largest and most complex refineries in the US, and produces gasoline, distillates, sulfur, fuel-grade coke and heavy-fuel oil, among others.
