CW Research: Petcoke CFR prices in India fall further in January
India's West Coast CFR prices for high sulfur petcoke had a marginal decrease in the first weeks of January 2017, with mid-sulfur petcoke prices contracting as well at a similar pace, according to CW Research's India Petcoke CFR Price Assessment update for mid-month December.
The average cost of burning high sulfur petcoke is at a discount of 31+ percent in mid-December 2016, on a mmBTU basis, when compared to Richard Bays coal for West Coast. In the previous month, the discount rate was 27+ percent.
Over 60 percent of the total petcoke volume imported by Indian firms throughout December 2016 came from the United States.
The mid-January update of the India Petcoke CFR Price Assessment also includes refinery news and shipping updates.
