Prices for high sulfur imported petcoke for the India CFR West coast rose further in November 2016, with mid sulfur petcoke prices increasing as well at a similar pace, according to CW Research's India Petcoke CFR price assessment update for the month of November.

 The average cost of burning high sulfur petcoke is at a discount of 36+ percent in November 2016, on a mmBTU basis, when compared to Richard Bays coal for West Coast. During the previous month, the discount rate was 27+ percent.

Cement companies accounted for around 60 percent of the total petcoke volume imported by Indian firms in October 2016.
