Med Basin FOB prices for cement and clinker decrease in December
In the Mediterranean Basin region, the FOB prices for prompt deliveries of bulk ordinary Portland cement had a single digit decline compared to the previous month, according to the CW Research's December update of Mediterranean Basin cement and clinker prompt delivery cargo price assessment.
Export prices for bulk ordinary grade clinker in the region decreased modestly from November to December. ÔÇ£In Med Basin, cement and clinker export prices are reflecting the end of the year discount. Domestically, North African countries have been facing issues regarding cement prices and margins, as well as trade deficits caused by the slump in oil prices. In terms of exports, cement volumes and prices continue low at the end of the yearÔÇØ, said Raluca Cercel, Consulting Analyst with the CW Group's European team.
